Where to Find the Right Insurance Documents - PDF

What this page is for

People often upload a receipt/invoice when the document we need is the one that contains the terms, charges, exclusions/conditions, and cancellation/exit rules.

This page shows you:

  • What to upload (the right PDF)

  • Where to find it (email, portal, app, agent, lender)

Documents to Upload (for an accurate review)

Best documents (recommended)

Insurance

  • Customer Information Sheet (CIS) / “Know Your Policy”

  • Policy Schedule / Certificate

  • Policy Wording / Terms & Conditions (full contract)

Privacy, security, and retention (please read)

Please redact/black out PAN, Aadhaar number, and full address before uploading.

Documents are transmitted over encrypted connections and access is restricted to our review team only.

Retention: We delete uploaded documents within 30 days unless you request earlier deletion; or continued retention for an ongoing review (see /privacy-policy and /data-requests).

Insurance: where to get the right documents

1) If you bought online (insurer website/app/aggregator)
Check:

  • Email/SMS/WhatsApp from the insurer (search: “Policy issued”, “Policy kit”, “Welcome kit”)

  • Insurer app → My Policies → Download policy

  • Insurer website login/portal → Policies → Downloads

Common attachment names:

  • Policy Schedule / Policy Certificate / Policy Document

  • Customer Information Sheet (CIS) / Know Your Policy

  • Policy Wording / Terms & Conditions

2) If you bought through an agent/bank
Ask for the Policy Kit (not the receipt). Request:

  • CIS / Know Your Policy

  • Policy Schedule / Certificate

  • Policy Wording / Terms & Conditions

Copy-paste message (WhatsApp/email):
“Hi, please share my complete policy kit: (1) Customer Information Sheet (CIS/Know Your Policy), (2) Policy Schedule/Certificate, and (3) Policy Wording/Terms & Conditions. I need the documents that contain coverage, exclusions/conditions, and charges—not only the payment receipt.”
